May 3rd – 5th, 2013 – Startup Weekend is coming to the next, great entrepreneurial city – Bend!

Do you have a business idea you’ve been kicking around for months but not done anything with it? Don’t miss this event! Your idea could rapidly become the next great Bend business success story.

Don’t have any ideas? Don’t worry – just come and join the fun. You never know, you might just end up as the co-founder of that business. No matter what, you will walk away with an incredibly valuable learning experience and have an awesome time – Bend style!

This event is about brainstorming ideas, forming teams and collaborating to transform that idea into the beginning of a viable company. To help you achieve this goal, you will have support from some of the best business and technical brains in the Bend community. Oh and we almost forgot to mention – there will be great prizes for the winning team….and lots of food and beer. Don’t miss this event!

Tickets are limited to 100 participants. Register now and save $$$!

Why Bend?

Entrepreneur magazine just recently named Bend the Next Big City for Entrepreneurship. And for good reason.

It’s tough to beat the quality of life in Bend – no traffic, safe neighborhoods, great public schools, amazing parks, great alpine skiing, awesome nordic skiing, camping, fishing, biking, arts, restaurants, festivals, concerts… the list goes on.

“Beer, Rec and Tech” is how one local refers to our business community and lifestyle. Although not inclusive of all of the business activity, it does fit in well with the work hard, play hard philosophy that is so pervasive in Bend.

The recreational opportunities are second to none but the business environment is also exciting. Bend is home to a number of successful industry clusters and businesses such as software development, bio-science, craft brewing, recreational and outdoor equipment, aviation and others. We have:

  • a talented work force;
  • a creative entrepreneurial community;
  • opportunities for continuing education;
  • great local banks;
  • an ecosystem of business support organizations; and,
  • a healthy lifestyle that keeps people working.
